SHE will hold the 2023 Annual Meeting on 7th November 2023 at the Discovery Centre, Dundee. The theme of the event is ‘What can health economics contribute to health inequalities in Scotland?‘
Confirmed speakers include Chris Creegan, David Finch (The Health Foundation) and Neil Craig (Glasgow Caledonian University) who will talk about the Health Foundation ‘Leave no-one behind‘ review of health inequalities in Scotland. The review will be used as a framework for discussions around how health economics can contribute to this area.
For the afternoon session we welcome presentations within the broad area of health inequalities including:
- Using economics to design and evaluate interventions aimed at reducing health inequalities.
- Using economics to elicit public views on health inequalities.
- Distributional cost-effectiveness analysis.
- Using economics to understand and measure health inequalities.
We welcome any type of presentation: initial research ideas, discussion of policy questions that require health economics input, methodological questions, research in progress, etc. Presentations will be around 10 to 15 mins. You can specify if you prefer a shorter or longer presentation.
The submission period is open until 19th September 2023. Abstracts should be up to 350 words maximum and should outline the aim and content of the presentation. When selecting presentations, we will be giving priority to early-career researchers and presentations that encourage discussion.
Please submit presentation abstracts to she@abdn.ac.uk
Further details on the programme and registration for this free event will be posted when available.
